Our Aria Hotel Las Vegas Review:

The Aria sheds the typical Vegas kitsch for sleek, modern curves that seem to drop right out a science fiction film. This stunning, top-end hotel is the newest player on the Strip, part of a new trend in Sin City towards classy, urban glamour rather than pulsating lights and thematic gimmicks.

With 4,000 rooms on hand, there’s nothing modest about the Aria Hotel Las Vegas. Yet guests will find they are sometimes made to wait in lines for check-in, taxis or a seat in one of the 16 restaurants despite forking out big bucks for the privilege of staying here.

To Aria’s credit, however, the massive hotel complex does an impressive job on the service end of things, and queues are simply a part of the Vegas experience anywhere that’s on the A-list. Aria is the hotel component of City Center, a truly ambitious resort complex that cost nearly US$11 billion to build right in the heart of the Strip.

Its location is a real bonus since many other legendary Vegas Strip attractions are within a short walk. This can be handy for guests who aren’t rich, as most of the amenities within Aria are rather pricey, even by Vegas standards. Aria has stunning spa facilities and a world-class fitness centre, but it’ll cost you to enjoy them. There’s also a daily resort fee, but that’s common practice for all Vegas resort properties.

The amenities at Aria Hotel Las Vegas provide everything required for relaxation under the desert sun. Five beautiful pools, a sprawling casino and top-end spa and fitness facilities ensure there are plenty of ways to work off the stress. Service is snappy and friendly, whether at the poolside or the blackjack table ― a refreshing change from the more battle-weary casinos on the Strip.

The pools are thoughtfully separated into different zones, including some that are adults-only and others that cater to families and their children. One advantage of being just a couple of years old is that everything in Aria still has that new vibe, which is particularly nice when considering amenities like outdoor swimming pools.

Wandering around the village that is City Center, it’s clear that no expense was spared putting this grand resort together. The 16 restaurants are all excellent, with a handful of world-famous chefs like Julian Serrano and Michael Mina working their magic in the kitchens. Each restaurant serves a different style of cuisine, from world-class Japanese to Southwest fusion. Even the buffet restaurant seems like a fine dining experience. Unfortunately, there aren’t many budget dining options in Aria so guests often need to head off-site to save money.

Among the seven bars at Aria, there are pulsating nightclubs for dancing and posh lounges for chilling out with martinis and cigars amid immaculate service. The ballroom hosts big name performers in the evenings, while during the day you can pamper yourself poolside at Liquid, a magnificent pool lounge.

While Aria is by no means a budget hotel, it offers excellent value for money considering its age and depth of amenities. A cool monorail whisks people between the buildings of this little city within the city, where everyone can enjoy the fleeting feeling of living in the lap of luxury.
