While the Las Vegas strip has the brightest lights and biggest hotels these days, long before the huge resort hotels arrived in Vegas, Downtown was where it all happened. Old Vegas, or the Downtown district still has the most personality and excitement of anywhere in Vegas and choosing a downtown Las Vegas hotel is a great way to not only experience a different side of Vegas but also save a few dollars – Downtown Las Vegas hotels are generally cheaper and altogether better value than their counterparts on the Strip, and your Downtown Vegas hotel will generally only be a 10 minute cab ride from the main throng of the Strip anyway.
